Mark Gasta

Founder - Leadership Guide

 

From the cockpit of a combat helicopter to the C-Suite of a public company, Mark Gasta brings over 30 years of C-Suite, corporate, and leadership experience resulting in deep expertise in executive coaching, experiential learning, employee engagement, leadership development, culture transformation, team alignment and strategy facilitation.

Mark is the Founder of Adventures in Leading, a leadership-team-culture development group that works to connect leaders and teams with their purpose and potential.

​

Mark also serves as a professor in the Master of Science of the Outdoor Recreation Economy (MORE) at the University of Colorado Boulder. Mark teaches future values-driven leaders to conduct business with ethical, environmental, social and economic initiatives.  Prior to joining MORE, Mark was an Associate Professor in the Masters of Tourism Management (MTM) Program and Program Director of the Adventure Tourism graduate certificate at Colorado State University. 

 

Previously, Mark served as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer for Vail Resorts Management Company. Mark’s leadership contributed to significant success for the company including being honored as one of the top employers in the country by Forbes magazine and as one of the 50 Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. Mark was honored as a Lifetime Achievement award nominee by HRO Today, a leading industry organization for HR professionals.

Before Vail Resorts, Mark has held various organizational development and human resources management positions with Comcast, AT&T Broadband, Lexis-Nexis and Target Corporation. He also served in the United States Army as a commissioned officer and aviator. In addition, Mark has volunteered on many non-profit boards including the Colorado Outward Bound School, Leave No Trace and the Urban League.

Mark received his Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Change from Pepperdine University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver, and his Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental and Systematic Biology from California Polytechnic State University.

 

Mark and his family live in Boulder, Colorado where they enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle.
